Initiated and managed a major strategic project to consolidate external connections with large medical device vendors in an effort to optimize the network infrastructure. Lead team in working with the outside firms to identify multiple VPN and modem connections that were off network and consolidate them into a single private connection and in an effort to route all support traffic across the WAN. Defined processes for adding new devices and assigning key contacts on both sides for managing the setup and tracking. At the end of the project the team successfully converted over 3000 devices through a single connection rather than over 100 connections between the companies. This decreased implementation time, reduced support costs and removed multiple unsecured modems from our network.
