What make's a great boss?

A great boss is a facilitator of and an investor in employee success. A great boss is someone who coaches and develops, is a partner, and leads by example. A great boss is someone who makes sound decisions, reviews outcomes, and makes adjustments where needed. A great boss trusts but verifies. A great boss delegates and builds teams with broad skillsets. A great boss seeks feedback and open communication. A great boss is open to and adapts to change. A great boss takes time to know people beyond the 8-5.

What is your yardstick for success?

My yardstick for success is personal and professional fulfillment in a role that has a strategic impact on a business, allows me to work with and develop teams of creative and highly-functional people with broad abilities, and gets me excited to start everyday better than the day before. And winning, as a team, the right way.

What are your long-term professional goals?

In the long term I have my goals set on a path towards an executive role where I am helping steer the strategic direction of a business. The step prior to that goal, however, is about me maximizing my strengths in a high-impact role which allows me to command a hierarchy that is addicted to excellence and makes inputs from a diverse set of skills and experiences.
