Quick Interview

What five words best describe you?

Strategic, vision, team-focused, big-picture, people

What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?

After family and friends, outdoors in general, hunting, shooting, water related things in particular. Fitness is a big must have as well, but one I consider hobby too.

What make's a great boss?

Communication, respect, direction, ethics, and morals are key and lead the way. Utilization of talent follows close behind as does involvement and lack of disconnection. To me, those first 5 words dominate and are contained in nearly every other aspect of being a “boss”. The more of each, the better.

What is your yardstick for success?

Success in a profession is measured by what the team achieves overall, and in most cases, what the team achieves in excess of what was expected. Individual accomplishments are vitial if kept in context of the bigger picture, but its the team pulling together behind individual accomplishments that make things happen.

What are your long-term professional goals?

My professional goals are to find a team that has long range designs, that has a need for someone to help strategically lead them, eliminate obstacles impeding success, and to be that catalyst that allows the unexpected to be achieved. I expect to give to my career and develop it for future success as well, not just short term. Diversity is an interest of mine, taking on new challenges, becoming proficient in them, achieving or exceeding stated goals, then moving on to the next hurdle. I'd like to also improve my company's position in the community with local involvement if that is a needed thing. Lastly, I take great pride in developing people, something that is another measuring stick of a good leader.
