A great boss is hands on and leads by example, but knows how to delegate by setting challenging but attainable goals and then trusting his/her people to get the job done. A great boss runs effective and efficient meetings and understands the importance of showing praise and gratitude, as well as constructive criticism when needed. What is your yardstick for success?My yardstick for success is helping people through my talents, skills, and aptitudes. I try to set goals that meet or beat expectations, and work as hard and smart as I can to complete those goals. If I make mistakes along the way, then I know I can improve and still have work to do, but if I reach those goals and achieve my desired outcome, I consider that a success. What are your long-term professional goals?I expect to remain in sales throughout my career, moving from direct sales, and eventually into a management role. |
